Speier Introduces Bill to End Ban on Shipping of Alcohol Through the Mail

It has been two years since Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D-San Francisco/San Mateo) and 24 original co-sponsors introduced the bipartisan USPS Shipping Equity Act. This bill would end the Prohibition-era ban on U.S. Postal Service shipping of alcoholic beverages—including beer, wine, distilled spirits, and other alcoholic drinks—to consumers via mail.

Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) opposed and will lobbying this bill:

WSWA wants retailer shipping to be restricted to protect profits of overgrown wholesale corporations. They apply pressure on FedEx and UPS as well.

WSWA's attempts to restrict retailer shipping are definitely not in any interests of consumers, retailers, small family operating producers, distributors and importers. 

Support the bill H.R. 4024 to give a bit more competition to over-fattened FedEx and UPS.
